favorite fall nails

I've always been a fan of dark nails; there's something so chic and sophisticated about dark nail polish that the pastels and neons of spring and summer just don't have. Don't get me wrong - I painted my nails every shade of orange and mint green under the sun from April to August, but I always look forward to pulling out the oxblood red and the jewel tones come autumn. Here are some of my favorite nail colors this fall.

from left to right:

Essie "carry on" - dark purple and a bit matte, it looked so nice against knits.

Revlon "beachy" - despite the name, the gold/orange shimmer has been perfect for fall. This line is supposed to smell really nice as well, though I think it might be a bit of a gimmick!

Essie "fall in line" - a gorgeous grey toned green; I have this on my nails now and I love how it looks!

Sonia Kashuk "wicked attraction" - here's the oxblood I mentioned earlier... Added bonus - it stayed on my nails forever! No chips at all, which is impressive for a self-confessed nail-biter!

Essie "penny talk" - such a unique color, it's gold and pink and absolutely gorgeous. I kept on getting compliments on this one, which I think is the sign of a good nail polish!

So, those are my favorite autumn nail polishes. Sadly, I've been eyeing Essie's (can you tell my favorite nail brand?!) "for the twill of it" because 1) it's beautiful and 2) Scotland holds a special place in my heart, and the line is Scottish themed; but no matter how much I stalk the Target near my home, it's always out! What have your favorite nail colors been this autumn?
